Following the successful completion of South Quays, in 2024, the Council and the University of Bath announced a new partnership to develop a vision for the future of Bath Quays North. This forms an essential part of the Bath Riverside Innovation Quarter, which runs from the Cattlemarket and Milsom Quarter, through the city to Newbridge, Locksbrook and the new Production Quarter.
The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to determine the development of the riverfront site in the heart of the city.
Signing the Memorandum of Understanding allows conversations to start about exciting possibilities including new space for research, innovation and enterprise activities, bringing important economic activity to the heart of the city.
An existing outline planning permission allows for up to 210,000sq.ft. new build office space, a business hotel with associated food & drink, housing and public spaces.
